STONE BLUFF – Funeral services for Merle (Frankie) Wright, age 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Wright of the Stone Bluff community, Veedersburg Rt. 4, who died at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Attica Christian Church. The Rev. Harry Randolph officiated and burial, with the DeSutter Funeral Home in charge, was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. The youth had been hospitalized since he was seriously burned in an accident at his home at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27. He was helping his father put up a TV antenna and was holding the guide wire. The antenna fell on a high power line causing deep electrical burns to the youth. He sustained first, second and third degree burns over most of his body. The family resided in the Crawfordsville area before moving to the Indianapolis area three years ago. They returned to their present home three weeks ago. He was a member of the Cub Scouts and would have been a fourth grade student this fall. Survivors include: his parents; two brothers, Jesse Adam and David, and two sisters, Joan and Jean, all at home; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Craft of Attica; and the paternal grandfather, Ery Wright of Stone Bluff; and several aunts and uncles. He was born Oct. 11, 1960, the son of Merle Dean and Mary Jo Craft Wright. --– jlr
