VEEDERSBURG — Rev. Noel Dean
Worley, 71, Veedersburg, died at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 in his home.
He was born April 24, 1936 in Ritner, Ky., the son of Dewey and Zula (Jones)
Worley. He first married Flonnie Clark April 17, 1954 in Stearns, Ky. She
preceded in death Sept. 7, 1985. He later married Mary M. (Cox) Watson August
28, 1999 in Muncie. She survives. He was raised and educated in Kentucky and
had formerly lived in West Lebanon before moving to Veedersburg in 1980. He had
worked as a foreman at Copeland Company in Sidney, Ohio, for 15 years, before
working as a welder at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica, until his
health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Old Fashioned United
Baptist Church in Independence, where he had served as an elder of the church
and also had helped pastor the church for three years. Survivors, besides the
wife, include: a son, Stanley Earl (Wilma) Worley, Wadena, Minn.; three
daughters, Paulette Mae Watson and Glenna Fay (Ronnie) Watkins, both of Attica,
and Amanda Kay Bechdolt, Muncie; five step sons, David (Karen) Watson, Dale
Watson, Dick Watson, all of Muncie, Jerry Watson, Albany, Jeffery Watson,
Eaton; a step daughter, Dianne (Paul) Young, Gaston; a brother, Jimmy (Irene)
Worley, Stearns, Ky.; two sisters, Myrtle (Bob) Abbott, Muncie and Josephine
(James) Niswonger, Troy, Ohio; six grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren, and nine step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and a granddaughter, Nevada Worley.
Friends were received on Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Noel was taken
to Whitley City, Ky., where visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
today (Monday) in McCreary County Funeral Home, Whitley, City. Funeral services
will be at 2 p.m. today in Rock Springs United Baptist Church near Stearns with
Pastors Joel Whitehead, Henry Ford Bell Jr. and Robert Estel Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to
