Waynetown Dec 4 - Robert Works (sic) 76, one of the best known men among the pioneers of this community died Tuesday at 3 o'clock at the home of his son, Clayton Works of this place, of cancer of the stomach after an extended illness. Mr. Works was born in Fountain County Feb 29, 1842 and had lived in this community all his life. He was married to Angeline Fletcher 54 years ago. His wife died in January 1917 (sic). Deceased was a retired farmer and made his home with his son, Clayton Works here. He was a member of the Christian Church, united under the pastorate of Rev. P.J. Lough. He is survived by 3 sons, Howard of Crawfordsville and Clayton and Collie (Callie) of Waynetown and two brothers, James of Yountsville and John of New Richmond. Four grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Two of his grandchildren are in the US Service. The funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning 10 o'clock by Rev. HA Davis of Hillsboro. -- kbz
