COVINGTON — Esther Odell Worgum,
84, Covington, died at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 in Provena United
Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. She was born Nov. 17,
1921 in Mt. Olive, Ky, the daughter of Emory E. and Opal Sylvia (Lambert)
McConnell. She married Edward M. Herrick Jan. 10, 1940 in Erlinger, Ky. He
preceded in death April 17, 1973. She married Chester Worgum Feb. 26, 1977. He
preceded in death Oct. 10, 1981. She moved to Covington from Lawrenceburg in
1952. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and
Senior Citizens. Survivors include: two daughters, Marie Cappello, Danville,
Ill. and Diana (Jack) Wilson, Pine Village; two brothers, Virgil (Catherine)
McConnell, Edsel (Barbara) McConnell, both of Covington; four grandchildren;
and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and
a sister. She was cremated per her request. The family received friends
Saturday in the First Church of Christ, Covington, with memorial services at 2
p.m. with Randy Walters officiating. Burial of cremains was in Mt. Hope
Cemetery. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, was in charge of arrangements. – jlr
