WOODS, William "Jack"

Chalmers—William J. “Jack” Woods, 67, Route 1, Chalmers, died at 1:28 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 1989 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette, where he had been a patient since Tuesday.

  He was born Aug. 21, 1921 in Lafayette. He was married Nov. 8, 1942 in Chalmers to Marjorie E. Culver, who survives.
  He graduated from Chalmers High School in 1939 and took several agriculture courses at Purdue University. The past 15 years, he had helped with the White County 4-H Fair.

  He was a member of Chalmers Community Church and was Big Creek Democrat precinct chairman.
  Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Gary A. and Roger F., both of Chalmers; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Janet K.) Crowder, Covington, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Philip.

  Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Loren Shuman officiating. Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery. – thanks to S
