Funeral services for Carl Woodard, age 51, a resident of Williamsport Rt. 2, and former operator of the Covington Food Lockers, which was located on the west side of the square in Covington, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Pape Memorial Home in Danville, Ill. The Rev. Harris Stuermer officiated and burial was in Johnson Cemetery. Mr. Woodard died at 4:48 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Lake View Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient four days. He had been ill 4½ months. He was born Dec. 3, 1914, in Oakwood, Ill., the son of John Robert and Rosa Gouch Woodard. He had farmed some and had worked as a welder in construction work for 20 years. He last was employed at the Hyster plant in maintenance work for six years until becoming ill last November. He was married in Covington Aug. 6, 1934 to Mary Margaret Meeker, who survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Harold Fredrick Woodard of Danville and Jack Kaye Woodard of Covington; two brothers, Lester Woodard of Pence and Jesse Woodard of Fairmount, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Craig of Homer, Ill., and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.    --– jlr
