VEEDERSBURG — Harold E. Wood, 62-year-old World War I veteran, died at noon Saturday in Veterans Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had been a patient there three weeks and had been in failing health 13 years with a heart ailment. Born Jan. 3, 1897, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Edwin and Winnie Leath Wood. He was married March 1, 1917, to India Baldwin of Veedersburg. Mr. Wood was last employed by R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co. at Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include the wife; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Whitlow of Indianapolis; a son, Lawrence of Crawfordsville; and a sister, Mrs. Edith Lyons of Covington. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fishero Funeral Home here with Rev. Donald Hoger of Crawfordsville officiating. Interment be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
