Word has been received of the death of Miss Bell Wood, 90, Mellott, Monday night at the home of her niece.  Mrs Ray Mitchell, Hubberton, Mich.  Miss Wood was an invalid 10 years and had been at the home of her
niece two years. Mrs. Docia Howard, Mellott, another niece has been at the Mitchell home, helping care for her.  Miss Wood was born in September 1857 daughter of William and Susan Bever Wood and was not married. She was a member of New Century Methodist Church.  All her life was spent in Mellott until her recent illness.  Rev. Arthur Howell will be in charge of funeral services, which will be conducted at Crumley &
Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 10:30 a.m. Friday -

The Rev. Arthur Howell conducted the funeral rites of Miss Bell Wood, 90, former resident of Mellott who died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Ray Mitchell of Hubbardston, Michigan.  The service was held at the Crumley Home in Hillsboro at 10:30 Friday morning. Mrs. Ivan Gwaltney and Mrs. Forrest Crumley of Mellott accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Leland Parnell, Hillsboro, sang, Good Night and Good Morning  and Beyond
the Sunset.  Pall bearers were Homer Howard; Donald Lee Howard of Attica; Merble Wood, Newtown; Joe Starkey, Cates; Lloyd Twiddy, Covington and George Birge, Hillsboro. Mrs. Mabel Twiddy Covington and
Mrs. Villa Howard, Attica served as flower bearers. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown.   --- transcribed by kbz

Mellott, March 23 - Miss Belle Wood, 90, until two years ago a resident of this community died Monday night at the home of a niece, Mrs. Ray Mitchen at Hubberton, Mich according to word received here Tuesday.  Miss Wood, daughter of William and Susan Bever Wood was born Sept 11, 1857.  She had been an invalid for the past 10 years. The deceased was a member the New Century Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Mitchell is another niece, Mrs. Docia Howard, also of Hubberton.  Mrs. Howard lived here and cared for Miss Wood until the latter woman went to make her home in Hubberton. The body will be sent to the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later. - kbz
