Covington --(CNS)-- Mrs. Betty Lou Stockard Wolter, 33, an expectant mother and housewife residing a mile southwest of Gessie, died at 5:30 p. m. Sunday (May 27, 1951) at St. Elizabeth Hospital about two hours after she had been admitted for emergency medical attention. Mrs. Wolter had been stricken ill at her home and was rushed to the hospital about 3:30 p. m. An infant daughter was delivered by caesarean section by attending physicians immediately following Mrs. Wolter's death. The infant, named Pamela Lou, was reported "fair" Monday by hospital attaches. Vermilion County Coroner John D. Cole said death was caused by uremic poisoning and cerebral hemorrhage caused by pregnancy. An autopsy was performed at the hospital. Mrs. Wolter was born Jan. 22, 1918, at Marshfield the daughter of James Lewis and Pearl Smith Stockard. She was married Nov. 7, 1942, to William Wolter, who survives. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Marshfield, the Highland Economics Club and the True Blue Sunday School class at the Gessie Evangelical United Brethren Church. She was graduated from the Georgetown High School. Also surviving are her parents; two daughters, Phyllis Ann at home, and Pamela Lou, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, and two brothers, Dale Stockard of Danville and Dean Stockard of Champaign. The body was returned to the family residence, Monday, from the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. It will remain at the residence until 2 p. m. Tuesday when it will be returned to the funeral home for services at 3 p. m. DST. The Rev. Peter McEwen will officiate. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery six miles west of Covington. --typed by Walt W
