Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed in the Fountain County Section of Local History at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

COVINGTON – A. G. (Tony) Wittenauer, age 74, of Ambia, father of Bill Wittenauer of Covington died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the Home Hospital in Lafayette. He had been a patient there two weeks following a heart attack. Mr. Wittenauer was born Sept. 3, 1893 in Ambia, the son of George and Julia Wittenauer. He was married Sept. 3, 1919, to Lela Marka, who survives. He had been employed in the poultry and produce business in Ambia and operated the Texaco Garage for 12 years. He retired five years ago. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Boswell American Legion Post 476. Surviving in addition to his wife, are: one son, Bill of Covington; one daughter, Mrs. John Cowan of Ambia; one brother, Martin of Ambia; one sister, Mrs. Frank Wilber of Veedersburg; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Yuill Funeral Home in Boswell. Burial was in the Boswell Cemetery.    --– jlr
