Covington -- Susie M. Witsman, 78, Covington, died at 11: 05 a.m. Thursday April 19 2001 in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport, having been a patient three years. She was born Aug 28 1922 in Fountain County, the daughter of Merle and Geneva Lewis Day. She graduated from Tangier High School and moved to Covington in 1963 from Lodi. She was employed at TeePak in Danville Ill. or 29 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, Bud Witsman, Dana, Sonny (Dianne) Witsman, Pontiac, Ill., Sam Witsman, Coatsville, Randy Witsman, Danville Ill., and T om (Kayla) Witsman, Covington; three daughters, Patsy Witsman, Indianapolis s, Mickey (Gorman) Lightle, Kingman and Marsha (Richard) Grisson, Sanford, Fla.; five sisters, Wanda (Lowell)Ratcliff, Veedersburg, Josephine (Charles) Stewart, Ocala, Fla., Mary (Paul) Fischer, Alamo, Martha Rose (Rober t) Jardell, Orange, Texas, and Nora Ann Day, Crawfordsville; a brother Maurice (Betty) Day, Crawfordsville, 13 grandchildren; and seven great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bill and four brothers, Glenwood, Gordon, John and Richard Day. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington with Pastor Bob Hamblen officiating. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, was in charge of arrangements.
