WITSMAN, Hugh - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Hugh Witsman, a native of Fountain County died Saturday at 7:30 at his home at Cates.  Mr. Witsman was born in Cates March 13, 1891 son of Clay and Sara Abernathy Witsman. He was a carpenter and retired in 1950. He was a member of Cates EUB Church. Surviving are the wife, Bessie Huffman Witsman, two daughters, Mrs. Luella Pelham of Buckey, Ariz and Katha at home; six sons, Errol, Ival, Leaman, Entil, Wendell all at home and Leland at Cates; one brother, Albert Witsman of Cates; two sisters, Lacy Pavey of Cates and Cathryn Purple of Covington; a half sister, Mrs. Martha Dilts of St. Paul, Ind; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, daughter, three sisters and two half sisters.  Funeral services were Tuesday at Cates EUB Church with Rev. Riffle Howard officiating. - kbz
