WITSMAN, Bessie Huffman - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Kingman -- Mrs. Bessie L. Witsman, 74, a former resident of the Kingman-Cates area died Saturday in the White Sands Missle Range Hospital at White Sands, NM. She was born in Fountain County Aug 31, 1895, a daughter of Charles and Ora Mettie Kiger Huffman. She married Hugh Witsman in 1951. He died Dec 19, 1953. For the past 18 months she had resided with a son, Leeman in New Mexico. She was a member of Cates United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Luell Pelham of Buchige, AZ and Mrs. Katha Majors of Veedersburg; six sons, Leland and Ival of Kingman; Leeman of White Sands; Entil of Los Angeles, Wendall of Russellville and Errol of Crawfordsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Keneer of near Kingman and Mrs. Ethel Tarter of Rockville. She was preceded in death by a son, and two grandsons. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Woodrow Funeral Home here.
