WINTER, Kate Whiteman

Mrs. Kate Winter, 85 a resident of the Hillsboro area the greater part of her life died early Sunday morning at the home of Pete Hubbel of New Market where she was visiting, following a heart attack. She was born near Hillsboro Dec 16, 1875 the daughter of Henry and Sarah Carter Whiteman. She was the last survivor of a family of six children. She was married to Orval C. Winter who died in 1936. Part of their marriage life was spent in the Campbell’s neighborhood. Mrs. Winter was a member of the undenominational Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Asbury of Veedersburg rural route and one son, Henry residence unknown; several nieces and nephews including Carl Fauth of Mellott. Funeral service was held from the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Earl Huckelberry of Indianapolis officiating. Burial was in the Wingate Cemetery. – kbz
