Guy Winks, a former resident of Williamsport, brother of RL Winks of this city died Saturday at the Augustana Hospital in Chicago, following a surgical operation which was performed on him the preceding Saturday for gone stones, a diseased spleen and appendicitis. The decedent had been a railway mail clerk for 25 years and for 10 years had resided at Watseka, Ill and traveled between Chicago and Evansville on the C&EI railway. Mr. Winks was born on a farm in Warren County but later moved to Williamsport where he lived for several years. He was 52 years old and is survived by a wife and five children – Carleton of Williamsport; Mrs. Lottie Winks Gray who resides on a farm near Watseka, Mrs. Helen Steulin of Chicago; Miss Marian Winks and Miss Barbara Winks who are still at the home in Watseka. He also leaves six brothers; RL Winks of this city, CE of Frankfort, Tom of Toledo, OL of Indianapolis; AL of West Lafayette and Harry of Williamsport. The funeral was conducted from the Presbyterian Church in Williamsport Tuesday afternoon and burial was made in the Williamsport cemetery. - kbz
