Tangier—Daton H. Wimsett, 66, Tangier, died Saturday morning, March 25, 1989 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Scotland, Ill., the son of Benjamin and Lydia Anderson Wimsett. He married Alberta M. Oakland, who survives.
He was an Army paratrooper during World War II. He was a retired employee of Bohn Aluminum of Danville, Ill., and John Janeway Feed Store, Kingman.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at Covington, Cayuga Masonic Lodge 584 and Waterman Baptist Church at Lodi.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mariam Nichols, Kingman; a brother, Calvin, Danville; a sister, Margaret Thompson, El Cajon, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, with the Rev. William Lehman officiating. Burial was in Friends Chapel Cemetery. – thanks to S
