Winfield S. Wilson was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, June 3, 1848 and departed this life August 12, 1930, age 82 years, 2 months, and nine days. Moved with his parents to Fountain county at the age of 8 years. He resided there until 31 years ago when he moved with his family to Cass county where he has since resided. He was united in marriage to Malinda Blue, to this union was born 2 children, William, of Attica, Indiana and Myrtle, deceased. On May 13, 1879, he was again united in marriage to Jennie Lyons. This union was blessed with nine children, all of whom but 2 survive. They are namely, Mae S. Montgomery, Lucerne, Indiana, Elizabeth Ramsden, Royal Centre, Golda Walford, South Bend, James B., Attica, Lester L. Logansport, Fern Allen, Logansport and Roy of Logansport. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Anna R. Fuston and one son, Winfield S. Wilson Jr., whom he gave to his country in the world war. Besides his wife and nine children, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Graham, of Covington, Indiana, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his departure. He was a kind husband and a loving father, a sincere friend and a loyal citizen and was loved by all who knew him. Not only was he loyal to his country but a professed christian and for many years a member of the Concord Presbyterian church.
