WILSON, John - 1848

Source: Covington People’s Friend 19 Aug 1848 p 2

John Wilson, a young man who lived with Peleg Redfield, Parke County was riding at full speed when the horse stumbled and fell as he was precipitated over the horse’s head at a distance of 25 feet.  This accident happened on 4 of August 1848.  The boy lived about 17 hours, but did not, at any time after fall, speak or show any signs of rationality.  He was taken to Daniel Vanness’s at which place he did, after being attended by the best physicians.  That this melancholy news may reach the father of the unfortunate young man who is thought to live near Lafayette the editors of the Lafayette, Covington and Crawfordsville papers are requested to publish this notice. - kbz
