Henry C. Wilson was born at Elizabethtown, Penn., Oct 4, 1849, and departed this life August 6, 1930, age 80 years, 10 months, 2days.

He came with his parents, Fredericke and Anne E. Epler Wilson by the old canal to Fountain County at the age of six years, settling on a farm near Veedersburg. There he grew to manhood. He was married to Laura E. Blue, Sept. 5, 1872, making their home in the Salem neighborhood. To this union was born twelve children, six dying in infancy, six, Handley and Porter Wilson of Attica, Fred Wilson and Mrs. G.S. Briner of this city, Miss Edna Wilson of Lafayette and Anne Corya of Santa Monica, Cal. The wife preceded him in death twenty-five years.

Besides the above children he leaves to mourn their loss eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, one brother, John M. Wilson, of this city, and one sister, Susie E. Dice of Veedersburg.

Henry, as he was familiarly known was a quiet disposition, a kind friend and a loving father.

He loved his home and all of its surroundings, always happy when caring for his many flowers and gardens.

For several years he has been a member of the M.E. Church at Covington, although not an active member his everyday life bore the testimony of his Christian life.

"In the desert a fountain of life is springing

In the wild waste there is still a tree,

And a flower in the old garden blooming

That speaks of his spirit to me."
