C’Ville—Mrs. Emma Wilson, 63, of 406 Ohio Street, was killed Monday night in an accident one half mile east of New Market.
The wife of Leotis Wilson, a blacksmith here, she either was killed instantly or drowned within a few moments after the car in which she was riding plunged off the New Market road and turned over in a creek.
She was found in the car with her head pinned under water.
Her husband, 70 years old, escaped injury in the accident.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson had been visiting her brother, Damon Booher, and family in New Market Monday evening. They left the Booher residence about 10:30 and the accident occurred shortly after.
Police who investigated believe the Wilson car missed the bridge completely, plunging over a 15 foot abutment.
Mr. Wilson got out of the car after the wreck, but was unable to free his wife, who was pinned in the car, head under water.
He ran about a quarter of a mile west to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Conoroe to summon aid.
