Source: Waterloos Iowa 3 Feb 1897 Wed p 5

A brother of Hon. James Wilson, the recently appointed secretary of agriculture in McKinley’s cabinet, died at Attica, Indiana yesterday. David Wilson’s home is in Chicago and he was one of the best known commission merchants in the city. He was a member of the firm of Farrelley, Wilson & Co and was well known throughout Iowa. For sometime past he has been afflicted with inflammatory rheumatism and to find relief from t his he had gone to Attica for treatment at the mud baths. While there he died. Another brother was summoned when Mr. Wilson became worse and was with him when he died. Mrs. LH Edwards of this city is a sister of James and David Wilson and while she is rejoicing over the proud position attained by one brother she is called to mourn the death of another equally loved. The remains of the late David Wilson will be brought to Traer for burial. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards go there Thursday for the funeral. The dead of the large Wilson family are all interred at Traer. Mr. Wilson’s death is a loss to commission circles as he was a man of unrivaled judgement and he was highly esteemed by all in business and social ways!
