VEEDERSBURG – Clarence H. Wilson, age 82, of Danville, Ill., father of Mrs. Joyce Rice of Veedersburg, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday. May 28, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, where he had been a patient five days. He had been a resident of Danville 59 years. Mr. Wilson was born March 24, 1886, in Nokomis, Ill., the son of Isaac and Henrietta Basset Wilson. He was married May 9, 1925, in Paris, Ill., to Hazel Putman, who survives. He was employed as a sheet metal worker at the C & EI Shops for 33 years, retiring in 1947. He attended the Free Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are three sons, Clarence E. Wilson of Danville, Woodrow Wilson of Chicago and Wilbert H. Wilson of Westville, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Rice of Veedersburg; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Danville. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, north of Danville. -– jlr
