HILLSBORO – Mrs. Artie Ellis Wilson, 88, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at her home near here. She had been ill the past year. She was born Jan. 1, 1881 in Cain Township of Fountain County, a daughter of John R. and Martha Bever Ellis. On March 14, 1901 she married Dec Wilson at Danville, Ill., who preceded her in death June 18, 1954. She lived with a granddaughter, Mrs. Doris Mae Pyke, who survives. Also surviving are a son-in-law, Chester “Ted” Hines of Hillsboro, a grandchild and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and a brother, and was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church and Ladies Aid Society. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home here, with Rev. Thomas Linton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
