Crawfordsville—Opal “Cappie” Wills, 81, Route 6, Crawfordsville, died Tuesday morning March 28, 1989 in her home.
She was born Jan. 1, 1908 at Wingate, the daughter of Ernest and Ewie Wood Smith. She was married May 28, 1927 at Linden to James C. Wills, who preceded her in death in 1967.
She was a graduate of Wingate High School. She was retired and had worked 20 years at Crawfordsville Shirt factory and at Carmen Nursing Home.
She was a member of Wingate Christian Church and the Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two sons, Richard and Rex, both of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Barbara) Cloncs, Carmel; a brother, Marion Smith, Wingate; a sister, Mrs. Delores Zachary, Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren, two step grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, George Smith and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today (Friday) in Powers Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. -s
