Mrs. Lulu May Williams, age 77, sister of Mrs. Leo (Wilma) Rich of 603 Washington St., died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill since fracturing a vertebrae in May, 1962. She had been a patient in the hospital since Feb. 12, 1963. She was born in Covington Sept. 7, 1885, the daughter of Milton Orr and Allie Williams Keller. She was married April 17, 1901 to I. Shelby Williams, who preceded her in death June 6, 1960. Mrs. Williams was a member of Hope Chapter No. 104, Order of Eastern Star, Grace Methodist Church, Woman's Club and Unity Club, all of Urbana, Ill. She also was a member of the University Chorus of the University of Illinois for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Williams moved from Yeddo in 1914 to Urbana, where they since made their home. Surviving in addition to her sister, are: one son, Carleton Keller Williams of Wilmington, Del.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Bonita Vanneman of Wilmington and Carter K. Williams of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Victoria and Bradway Vanneman and Lisa and Linda Williams, and several nieces and nephews. One nephew, Capt. J. M. Sanford Rich, arrived in Covington from Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Miss., in time for Mrs. Williams' funeral. The Captain and his family, enroute to Anchorage, Alaska where he will be stationed at Elmendorf AFB, will remain in Covington until sometime in July. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, C. O. Keller in January, 1960, and a nephew, Douglas Keller of the U. S. A. F., who was killed in an airplane accident in England in May, 1945. Mrs. Williams has two sisters-in-law in this area, Mrs. Eva Parks of Attica and Mrs. Orpha Williams of Waynetown. Funeral services were held at the Renner Funeral Home in Urbana, Ill., at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, with the Rev. Clarence Hall of Catlin, Ill., officiating. The Rev. Hall, a family friend of long standing, had been Mrs. Williams' pastor for the past year. Burial was in the East Lawn Cemetery at Urbana. --typed by Walt W
