 Hillsboro—Rev. Arthur Howell, local pastor, was in charge of the funeral service of James J. Williams held at the Hillsboro Methodist Church Monday afternoon. Mr. Williams died at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis Friday afternoon.
  A quartet composed of Vera Shade, Lucille Parnell, Fred McBroom and Clause Harding accompanied by Mildred Gray sang, “Face to Face,” and “Does Jesus Care.”
  The pall bearers were William Lyon, Hyson J. Myer, John Houser, Frank DeAth, Claude Hershberger and C. L. Snyder.
  The flower bearers were Nell Norris of Covington, Emma Hershberger, Hazel Houser, Alice Nine, Von Rusk, Jennie Lyon, Debby Myer, Josephine Tinsley, Gertie Frazier and Bess Bever. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. – thanks so much to S&E

Hillsboro—James J. Williams, 84, for 35 years a bank cashier in Hillsboro, died Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient for only a few hours. He entered the hospital earlier Friday.
  Mr. and Mrs. Williams, lifelong residents of Hillsboro, had been staying recently with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Roembke, at their home in Indianapolis.
  Mr. Williams was born in Hillsboro, June 20, 1862, the son of Alexander Jackson Williams and Keturah Cecil Williams, pioneers in this community. He was married in 1889 to Fanny Fossett.
  Mr. Williams was engaged in the hardware business in Hillsboro many years ago. Then he entered the banking business in Hillsboro, where he was cashier for 35 years. He retired some years ago from active business life.
  Mr. Williams is survived by his widow; one daughter, Catherine, wife of Mr. Roembke; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One brother, T. M. Williams, of Hillsboro, also survives. A brother, Herbert Williams and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Carter, preceded him in death.
  Mr. Williams was a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Knights of Pythias and the Order of the Eastern Star.
  Funeral at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon in the Hillsboro Methodist Church in charge of Rev. Arthur Howell, the pastor. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro. – thanks so much to S&E
