Herman Williams, 67, passed away Sept 19, 1958 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thomas in Veedersburg where he had been a roomer the past six years. Mr. Williams was born Jan 21, 1891 at Crawfordsville where he spent his early life. For a number of years he was employed by the Western Union Telegraph Company and later became telegraph operator for the New York Central Railroad working at Crawfordsville, Mansfield, Illinois and at the time of his retirement at the tower in Veedersburg. He was the last of his family, his parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. There are no known surviving relatives. He leaves a host of friends in Veedersburg and the cities where he was formerly employed and had expressed many times his appreciation of the kindness and consideration extended to him by the Harry Thomas family during the time he was in their home. The J. Fred Parham Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral. - kbz
