HILLSBORO --- Charles B. Williams, a Hillsboro native and a barber here for several years, died Monday at the Lake Wales Hospital, Lake Wales, Fla. He was 56. He had resided in Hillsboro from birth to 1956, when he moved to Lake Wales. He had been a barber here all his adult life. He had been in failing health for four years. He was born here on Nov. 4, 1910, to Charles and Hattie Whitaker Williams. He married Eugenia Van Vliet, who survives, on June 15, 1941, at Newport. He was graduated from Hillsboro High School. He was in the supply corps of the U. S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and belonged to American Legion Post 288, Masonic Lodge 385 and F & AM Lodge. Survivors besides the widow are a daughter, Jo Ann, at home, and four sisters, Miss Ruth Eileen Williams, Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary A. Livengood, Lake Wales, Mrs. Florence Tinsley, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Grace M. Tinsley, Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Ryson of Veedersburg officiating at the Christian Church here. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
