Mrs. Bertha Davidson Williams, 82, a lifetime resident of Hillsboro and vicinity, died Friday night at 11:30 at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where she had been a medical patient since May 6.  Mrs. Williams had returned to her home in Hillsboro less than a week prior to her death after having spent the winter months at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Engmark, of Indianapolis. She seemed to be enjoying her usual health and while planning to attend a club party Friday afternoon, she suffered a paralytic stroke shortly before one o'clock. Mrs. Pearl Humphreys, who called at the Williams home to take her to the party found her lying on the floor, unconscious.
The Rev. G. T. Johnson, pastor of the Methodist Church, conducted the funeral service held at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 2 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Mary Louise Newman presided at the organ and was accompanist for Mrs. Lucile Parnell, who sang, "Beyond The Sunset," and "Just As I Am." Those serving as pall bearers were: Albert Davidson, Carl Leighty, -Grover Crowder, Charles Williams, Lowell Janeway and Thomas Hightower. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
