Matie Alice Willhite, 71, of 304 Covington St., a Montgomery County native, died Wednesday evening in Culver Hospital. She was a member of Oak Hill Tabernacle. She was born May 29, 1903, a daughter of Frank and Cordelia Kerns Knee. She married Walter Willhite in June, 1919. Surviving are four sons, Floyd of Brownsburg, Walter Jr. of Homedale, Idaho, Richard of New Richmond and Robert of Crawfordsville; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Miller of Fairmount, Ill., Mrs. Gladys Brady and Mrs. Jane Adams of Crawfordsville, and Patsy Utterback of Priest River, Idaho; a brother, James Knee of Crawfordsville; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Newlin and Mrs. Helen Pipher of Crawfordsville, Mary Stout of Veedersburg and Mrs. Myrtle Stevens of Mellott, 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10: 30 a.m. Monday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester McGruder officiating. Burial will be in Willhite Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
