Earle Wilkinson, a native of Fountain County died suddenly of a heart attack at 11:15 p.m. Saturday in his home, 1015 West Main Street.  The son of Abraham and Caroline Bruner Wilkinson, Mr. Wilkinson was born near Wallace. He was married to Miss Lillie E. Livengood at Waynetown Oct 6, 1897. They resided at Waynetown a number of years where Mr. Wilkinson was associated with a Waynetown bank.  Mr. Wilkinson had been engaged continuously in the real estate and insurance business in Crawfordsville since he moved here from Waynetown in 1919.  He had conducted his agency here for 30 years first in south Washington street office and later in the Ben Hur building where he had an office for a score of years.

Long active in Democratic politics Mr. Wilkinson was defeated in his race for mayor by Dr. Thomas L. Cooksey in 1932. Later, he was an unsuccessful candidate for a second nomination.  Mr. Wilkinson was treasurer of the Montgomery County Democratic committee. He was also a member of the Crawfordsville Eagles, POS of A Masonic lodge and both the Chapter and Council in the Masonic bodies here as well as the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Wilkinson also held membership int he First Christian Church.  Surviving are the widow, three nieces and two nephews.  

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m Tuesday at Proffitt and Sons Funeral Home with burial in Waynetown Msonic Cemetery, Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home - kbz
