Funeral services for Robert Greenlee Wilkey, age 63, native of Kingman and former resident of Covington, who died at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at his home in Tucson, Arizona, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington. Although he had been in ill health for the past two or three years, his death was unexpected.
Mr. Wilkey was born July 7, 1900, in Kingman, the son of Joe M. and Anna Greenlee Wilkey. He was married Sept. 18, 1920, to Marjorie Brown, who survives. He was a veteran of World WW I and a member of the Fulton Banta Post 291 American Legion of Covington. He also was a member of the Covington Methodist Church.
He had been employed at the C&EI Shops in Danville, Ill., for 40 years prior to moving to Tucson about two and a half years ago. He and his wife, who formerly served as Fountain County Treasurer, moved to Arizona two and a half years ago for the benefit of his health.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: one daughter, Mrs. Marianna Duncan of Bremen; four , grandchildren; one sister, Mrs.
McManony (Elizabeth) Coffing, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
The Rev. Donald Ashley, pastor of the Covington Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military rites were conducted at the graveside by the Fulton Banta Post.
