George Clarence Wilhite, 76, retired farmer of near Howard, Ind., died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Kiger, Kingman Route 2. He had been ill there a month.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at East Liberty Church. The Rev. Winn Sherrill, Tangier, officiated and burial was in Harveysburg Cemetery.
Mr. Wilhite was born Nov. 6, 1872 near Independence, Ind., son of George and Mary Leslie Wilhite. He was married to Mary Maskal Barrett, who died in 1933.
Surviving are a son, Chester, Cayuga; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Kiger, Kingman Route 2 and Mrs. Marie Preston, Van Nees, Calif.; a stepson, Elsa Barrett, Danville; two grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. – thanks to S&E
