Mrs. John F. WILHITE, residing at 915 W. Wabash Ave died Wed night at 6 o'clock after a lingering illness of several years of senile bronchitis.  Esther Samantha Swank was born near Attica, Dec 6, 1841 being at the
time of her death 74 years of age. She was the youngest of several children of William and Mary Swank and the last survivor of the family.  Feb 16, 1870 she was united in marriage to John F. Wilhite of this city and their entire married life was spent here. A son, Hubert now instructor in the schools of Logansport was born to them and was their only child. The husband departed this life many months ago. Mrs. Wilhite was one of the good women of Crawfordsville whose acts of kindness will be long remembered. She has been a devoted member of the Christian Church for 35 years and faithful to its duties until her affliction deprived her of the pleasure of attending services for more than two years. The funeral will be conducted from the Christian Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev RE Moss.   --- transcribed by kbz
