VEEDERSBURG — Roy Wilder, 74, a carpenter, was found dead in his trailer home here at noon Thursday. He had been under treatment for a heart condition for several years. He was sitting in a chair and is believed to have been dead since Monday, Coroner Ralph Nelson said. He lived alone. Born at Crawfordsville, he had lived in Veedersburg since childhood. He was married in 1921 to Nellie Brown who died in 1947. He was a veteran of World war I. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Evelyn Hines of Hillsboro; four stepsons, Lawrence Brown of Homestead, Fla., Arthur Brown of Mishawaka, Dallas Brown of Long Beach, Calif., and Floyd Brown of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Linker of Santa Barbara, Calif.   -- typed by Walt W

Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Funeral services for Roy Wilder, age 74, of Veedersburg, who was found dead Thursday, Jan. 11, by neighbors at his trailer home, were held Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg. The Rev. Thomas Linton officiated. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. Mr. Wilder was born July 23, 1887, at Crawfordsville, the son of Thomas and Mary Martin Wilder. He was married in 1921 to Nellie Brown, who died Sept. 12, 1947. Mr. Wilder had been a carpenter and was a veteran of World War I. Ralph Nelson, Fountain County coroner, investigated and attributed Mr. Wilder's death to a heart attack. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Hazel Linker of Santa Barbara Calif.; a step daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Hines of Hillsboro; and four step sons, Lawrence Brown of Homestead, Fla., Arthur Brown of Mishawaka, Dallas of Long Beach, Calif., and Floyd of Chicago.
