Veedersburg–(CNS)— Mrs. Nellie Wilder, 62, life resident of Veedersburg, died at midnight Friday at her home here. She had been seriously ill since suffering a paralytic stroke three months ago. Mrs. Wilder was born Sept. 8, 1885, in Fountain County, daughter of Albert and Eva Berry Cartwright. She was married to Charles Brown, and later to Roy Wilder, who survives. She also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Chester Hines, Crawfordsville; four sons, Lawrence Brown, Midlothian, Ill.; Arthur Brown, Mishawaka, Ind.; Dallas Brown, in the U. S. Navy at Long Beach, Calif., and Floyd Brown, Chicago. There are 13 grandchildren and one half-brother, Martin Switzer, Veedersburg. The body was removed to the Fishero Funeral Home, Veedersburg, where funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending word from the son in service.   -- typed by Walt W

Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Veedersburg, Sept. 18.-- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Fishero Funeral home here for Mrs. Nellie Wilder, who died Friday at her home after an illness of three months. The services were conducted by Rev. Buesching, of the Church of the Nazarene in Veedersburg, with burial at Rockfield cemetery. Pallbearers who served were Carl Wilder, Hillsboro, Ohio; Donald Crane and Douglas Crane, both of Indianapolis; Herbert Kelso and J. R. Whittington, both of Crawfordsville, and Ora Stonebraker of Veedersburg. Flowers Were carried by Sophia Wilder, of Hillsboro, Ohio; Gladys Crane, of Indianapolis; Betty Foxworthy, of Waveland; Margaret Bentley, Doris Bunnell and Dorean Stonebraker, all of Veedersburg; Frances Ward, of Wallace; Lora Shirley, Louise Kelso and Yvonne Whittington of Crawfordsville, and Ruth Arvin of Hillsboro, Ind. Mrs. Wilder, 62, had been a lifelong resident of Veedersburg. Her death followed a paralytic stroke. Attending the funeral service from Crawfordsville, in addition to her daughter, Mrs. Chester Hines, were Mrs. Lucille Young and Mrs. Delcie Marshall. Three of Mrs. Wilder's four sons were also present for the services. They were Lawrence Brown, with his wife, of Midlothian, Ill.; Arthur Brown and his family from Mishawaka and Floyd Brown and Mrs. .Brown from Chicago. Fourth son, Dallas Brown, who is serving in the United States Navy, was unable to attend.   -- typed by Walt W
