Elias C. Wilcox died yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock at McPherson, Kansas. The deceased was well known to nearly all of the older citizens of Fountain County, having been for many years a resident of the county and having served eight years as county clerk. Mr. Wilcox was first elected in 1852 and was reelected and served until 1860. Soon after the expiration of his second term of office he went west and has since lived in Nebraska and Kansas. He was known as a kind and generous-hearted man, one who thought nothing of denying himself for a friend. He leaves a wife, daughter and son, the latter a prominent business man of McPherson, Kansas. He was nearly 70 years of age at his death. - kbz
