Jesse Martin Wilbur, age 69, resident of Kingman Rt 2 died 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, in the Veteran Administration Hospital in Danville, Illinois. He had been in failing health for several months. He was a retired farmer and former owner of Veedersburg Food Lockers. He had been a superintendent of the Lodi Park in recent years and had resided in the Lodi area. He served in the US Army in WWI and was a member of the Veedersburg Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 491 & American Legion. He was born on October 14, 1898 in Humerick, IL the son of David and Anna Lynch Wilbur. He married Sept 25, 1923 to Armilda Bowman who died last year. Surviving is one son, David of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Davis of Veedersburg and Mrs. Uma Furmer of Kirklin, one brother, Everett of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Moffett and Mrs. Carrie Boatman, both of Covington. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Sever Mortuary in Veedersburg, Rev. John T. Myers official with burial in Miller Cemetery at Lodi.
