David G. Wilbur, 78 a prominent farmer in this community died of a heart ailment Tuesday morning while attending to chores on his farm near Mellott. He was found at the barn by his wife, Mrs. Anna Wilbur. Born June 1, 1865 in Crawford County, Mr. Wilbur was the son of William and Mariah WIlbur, pioneer Indiana couple. He was married in 1889 to Anna Lynch, also of Crawford County, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Everett Wilbur of near Mellott and Jesse Wilbur of Wallace; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Crane of Veedersburg and Mrs. Edna Moffett of Covington. Mr. Wilbur had devoted most of his life to farming and had resided near Veedersburg before moving near Mellott.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the late residence with Fishero & Son of Veedersburg in charge. The officiating minister was Rev. Charles Howard. Burial in Rockfield Cemetery. --- transcribed by kbz
