David E. Wilbur, 51, of 2725 S. 9th St., Lafayette, died late Sunday afternoon at his home. He was employed by Alcoa Aluminum Co. at Lafayette and was a member of the Lafayette Sheriff's Auxiliary, Aluminum Workers of America and Christ Methodist Church, Lafayette. He was the son of Jess and Armilda ( Bowman) Wilbur. He married Genevieve Stewart. She survives. Also surviving are four sons, Thomas Mullen of Kokomo and Carl Mullen, Joseph Wilbur and Daniel Wilbur, all of Lafayette; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Cotton of Rt. 1, Kingman, and Uma Wilbur of Rt. 2, Kingman. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parham Funeral Home, Veedersburg. The Rev. Richard Throckmorton will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Prairie Cemetery. VEEDERSBURG, Ind. – David E. Wilbur, 51, of Lafayette, a former Veedersburg resident, died Sunday (June 25, 1978). He had been ill for some time. A resident of Lafayette 23 years, he was employed at Alcoa Aluminum there. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Lafayette, Aluminum Workers of America and Lafayette Sheriff’s Auxiliary. He served in Japan during the Korean War. Born June 3, 1927, in Veedersburg, he was the son of Jess and Armilda Bowman Wilbur. In In January of 1956, he married Genevieve Stuart, who survives. Other survivors include four sons, Thomas Mullen of Kokomo and Carl Mullen, Joseph Wilbur and Daniel Wilbur, all of Lafayette and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Cotten of Kingman Route 1 and Miss Uma Wilbur of Kingman Route 2. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg, with the Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.   -– jlr
