COVINGTON – Paul Wigley, age 56, of Covington, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 (1969), in the Williamsport Community Hospital. He had been in ill health six months.
He had been a resident of Covington since 1940 and before that had lived in Cayuga. He had been employed at Harrison Steel Castings Co., in Attica and was working the day he was stricken ill.
Mr. Wigley was born June 21, 1913 in Cayuga, the son of Josephus C. and Sarah Stewart Wigley. He was married to Martha Ellen Shuman March 5, 1937 and she died March 27, 1957. He later married Vera Forner, who survives.
Surviving in addition the wife, are: three sons, Arthur of Crete, Ill., Larry of Danville, Ill., and Danny of Pendleton; five step-children; one brother, Clarence of Cayuga; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Hoskins of Catlin, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, his first wife, and one son.
Funeral services were held at the Hegg Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Edgar Allen officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. -– jlr
