John L. Wiemken of Apple River, Illinois, age 64, died Tuesday night, February 2, in Lutheran Hospital in Moline, Illinois. He was born in Rankin, Illinois, October 1, 1917, the son of John and Minnie Vissering Wiemken. July 24, 1941, he married Adeline Seaholm, who survives. A member of the Lutheran Church, he was a navy veteran of World War II and had retired after 30 years as an electrical engineer with Illinois Bell Telephone Company.
Also surviving are two daughters, Paula Young of East Moline and Kathy Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee; a son, Karl of Champaign, Illinois; two sisters, Alma Parish of Covington and Dorothy Seidel of Rankin; two brothers, F. J. of South Pasadena, Florida, and Lawrence of Fowler; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Lutheran Church in Andover, Illinois, with Esterdahls Funeral Home of Moline in charge. – s
