C. Elmo Whitten, age 80, a life resident of Warren County and a retired farmer, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at his home in West Lebanon. He had been ill five years.
Mr. Whitten was born Oct.17, 1885, in Warren County, the son of Henry and Loretta Conklin Whitten. He was married Feb, 23, 1910, to Golda Wakley, who survives. He had been employed for several years by the Warren County Highway Department. He was a member of the Christian Church and the Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: three sons, Robert of West Lebanon, Morris of New Carlisle and Max of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Gladys Bush of West Lebanon; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Crowmer and Siddens Funeral Home in West Lebanon. The Rev. Douglas Dickey and the Rev. Kenneth Littleford officiated. Burial was in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
