William G. Whitford of West Terre Haute, age 64, died Sunday, April 3, in Union Hospital at Terre Haute. He was born at Clinton, June 15, 1918, the son of Ted and Maryetta Kilgore Whitford. He married Reva Mae Myers, who survives. Whitford was a retired Pinkerton guard.
Also surviving are four daughters, Gilberta Yater of Strang, Nebraska, Eleanor Elaine Rucker of Tucson, Arizona, Mary Alice Asberry of Pevely, Missouri, and Anetta Rettig of Indianapolis; three sons, Richard of RR 1, Marshall, Bill of Liberty, Kentucky, and James Crockett of Marshall, Illinois; four sisters, Alberta Christopher of Clinton, Nellie Regal of Kingman, Alene Mackey of Virginia and Irene McCrea of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers, Robert of Phoenix, Max of Kingman and Harold of Terre Haute; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A son, Kenneth L. preceded him in death in 1975.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Tudor-Miller Memorial Chapel in Rockville with Rev. Ruth Isaacs officiating. Burial was in Tangier Cemetery. – thanks to S
