WILLIAMSPORT - Herman White, age 60, of Williamsport Rt 2, brother of Mrs. Opal Julian of Danville, Ill.; a former resident of Covington, died shortly before noon Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Carle Memorial Hospital at Urbana, Ill. He had been a patient there eight days.
Mr. White was born July 25, 1907, in Fairmount, Ill., the son of John and Elizabeth Mapes White. He was married to the former Erma Williams. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Warren County Highway Dept.
Surviving, in addition to the wile are: five daughters, Mr& Bob (Thelma) Hastings, Mrs. Charles (Thelma) Cating, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Shutes, and Mrs. Harold (Marjorie) Rogers, all of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Donna M. Simonton of West Lebanon; 18 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Julian. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m Tuesday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Theodore Simonton, pastor of Galloway Chapel in Warren County, and the Rev. Edgar Allen, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Covington officiated. Burial was in Davis Cemetery at Fairmount, Ill.
