Kermit Eugene Whitaker of Covington, age 46, died Wednesday afternoon, May 19, in St. Vincent Hospital at Indianapolis. He was born in Richmond, Kentucky, May 11, 1936, the son of Cecil and Freda Stocker Whitaker. July 6, 1958, he married Janice Crider, who survives.
Whitaker, owner of Ben Franklin Store in Covington, was a member of Covington Lions Club and Covington Investors Club. He was employed with the Ben Franklin Division of City Products Corporation many years before coming to Covington in 1979.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rhonda and Judy, both at home; four sons, Gene and Gordon, both of Covington, Greg of Louisville, Kentucky, and Troy of Fort Benning, Georgia; his parents of Richmond, Kentucky; three sisters, Leona Gregory, Mildred Short and Ora Nae Masters, all of Richmond; and a brother, Merle of Charlestown, West Virginia.
The body was taken from Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington to Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home in Richmond, where funeral services were held Saturday afternoon. Burial was in Richmond Cemetery. -s
