Alex Westfall aged 61 years died Sunday night at the poor house. The body was shipped to Waynetown Monday afternoon for interment. Westfall was an old time fiddler and for years played for all the dances around about Waynetown. When he grew too feeble to knock out the rag time inspiration popular in the neighborhood he drifted to the poor house to end his days. The poor chap considered his calling one of dignity and although urged would not take part in the recent old fiddlers contest, considering it a burlesque on an honorable calling. – kbz
