HILLSBORO — Orville Wendall, 67, Hillsboro, died at 2 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital of a heart ailment. He had entered the hospital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Wendall had been a barber all his adult life and had lived and worked in Hillsboro for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Wallace Masonic Lodge, Wallace Order of Eastern Star and Wallace Low Twelve. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis. Born Jan. 8, 1897, in Parke County, he was the son of William and Nancy Featherston Wendall. The father survives in Stone Bluff. He first married Marie Blackford of Waynetown. Their son, Charles Wendall, survives in Mesa, Ariz. He later married Grace Burt of Decatur, Ill. She preceded him in death in 1950. Mr. Wendall was then married to Martha Bell Wiggins of Attica on March 16, 1953. The widow survives. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Martha Louise Van Hook of West Lebanon; a brother, Wilford of Waynetown, and sister, Mrs. Mary Cox of Stone Bluff. Masonic rites will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ross Kirk of Hillsboro officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening.   --typed by Walt W

Orville Wendall, 67, Dies Of Heart Ailment On Monday

Orville Wendall, 67, of Hillsboro, died of a heart ailment at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville at 2 a.m. Monday, after entering the hospital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. He had been in ailing health for the past few years. He had been a barber most of bis life and had been located in Hillsboro for the past 25 years.
He was born in Parke county January 8, 1897, the son of William and Nancy Featnerson Wendall.  He was married to Marie Blackford, of Waynetown, and one son was born to this union, Charles Wendall, of Mesa, Arizona. Later he was married to Grace Burt, of Decatur, Ill. who died in 1950. On March 16, 1953 he was married to Martha Bell Wiggins, of Attica, who survives.
Mr. Wendall was a member of I the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and Low Twelve, all of Wallace and the Scottish Rite, of Indianapolis.
Surviving besides the widow and son are a step-daughter Martha Louise Van Hook, of West Lebanon; his father, William Wendall, of Stone Bluff; a brother Winford, of Waynetown and a sister Mrs. Mary Cox, of Stone Bluff.
Masonic rites were held at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 8 p.m. Tuesday and the funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, also at the funeral home. The Rev. Ross Kirk, pastor of Hillsboro Christian Church officiating and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
