Francis J. Welsh of Attica, age 65, died Thursday afternoon, June 23, at his home. He was born in Mounds, Illinois, November 4, 1917, the son of Robert James and Muriel Britt Welsh. September 5, 1936, he married Anna Viola Nierengarter, who survives. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He had worked as an electrician with Harrison Steel Casting Company before retiring in 1969.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dr. Kay Welsh of Attica and Gloria Jean Busse of West Lafayette; a sister, Bernice Harper of RR 4, Attica; a brother, Robert L. of Centralia, Illinois; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. Robert Walter officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. – thanks to S
