Mrs. Welch, 81, Dies Monday; Rites Thursday

Mrs. Rebecca Ann Welch, age 81, a resident of 1015 Third St., Covington, died at 9:50p.m. Monday, June 13, in a hospital in Indianapolis where she had been a patient for two months.
Mrs. Welch was born March 21, 1885, north of Covington in Troy Township, the daughter of Walter T. and Sarah Rogers Huffer. She was married Nov. 25, 1903 to Charles Victor Welch and he preceded her in death May 28, 1943.
She was a life resident of Fountain County. She was a member of the old Bend Methodist Church, later transferring her membership to the Covington Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Win One Class and other church organizations.  She was a charter member of the Bend Social Club, a member of Troy Chapter 145, Order of Eastern  Star, Covington, and the Covington Business and Professional Women's Club.
Surviving are: one son, William Walter of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Lucile Hatton of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Helen Marie Painter of Akron, Ohio; two granddaughters, Mrs. Nancy Elliott of Indianapolis and Mrs. Martha Halt of Elkhart; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Crain of Covington and Mrs. Roy (Lulu) Hunt of Veedersburg Rt. 2.
The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where friends may call. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
